AMEC is expanding its services in the Westford, MA office and is seeking an environmental, mechanical, or chemical engineer with 6-8 years experience to support the environmental engineering group within the engineering department. This exciting opportunity offers a growth position in a team oriented environment. Projects include hazardous waste remediation, industrial wastewater design, and biotech process engineering. The engineer should be self-motivated and able to work on moderately complex engineering projects.
Accountabilities
Work with and mentor entry level staff on engineering projects, including:
Assisting with environmental engineering projects including feasibility studies, remedial designs, and preparation of other related documentation / reports;
Assisting with the preparation of design packages including engineering calculations, design sheets, specifications, and competitive bid procurement;
As needed, assist with construction oversight, QA / QC, and installation / operation / maintenance of treatment systems;
Provide engineering support for biotechnology and chemical manufacturing companies;
Manage the financials for small to mid size projects and tasks; and
Assist in tracking subcontracts, project budgets and schedules.
Some daytime,overnight, and extended travel required (about 20%)
Knowledge
BS in Environmental, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering;
Requires a minimum of 6 years experience in environmental, mechanical or chemical engineering;
Experience should be in the environmental field which may include hazardous waste, environmental remediation, process engineering or related mechanical / chemical engineering work;
Piping and instrumentation diagram (P&ID) development experience required;
Good organizational, technical, writing, communication and computer skills also required;
HAZWOPER training is a plus;
EIT required and a PE is a plus; and
AutoCAD experience preferred.
