Attending Chamber events to network is one of the main reasons many businesses join the Chamber. Every program and event holds the opportunity for your increased marketing presence within our business community.

If you want to build that exposure and give an additional boost to your marketing efforts, we suggest that you sign up for one of the many Chamber committees described below.

Committee volunteers tend to develop a network within a network. They often form working partnerships with other members that they might not have otherwise had a chance to work so closely with. At meetings, there is often an exchange of information that has a high business value in spite of being exchanged in a comfortable and somewhat informal environment.

Sharing committee responsibilities and working as part of a team to achieve common goals provides members with a networking opportunity that goes well beyond that of a handshake and a quick exchange of pleasantries.

Give a little of your time and effort to a Chamber Committee - it's good for the Chamber and it's good for business! E-Mail: Melissa@nvcoc.com

    Government Affairs
The purpose of the Government Affairs Committee is to involve and educate our members on legislative issues that affect business. The committee helps by identifying important issues and then recommending positions on these issues to the Chamber Board and the Chamber membership. The committee regularly notifies the membership about impending legislation and what they and the membership can do to affect the desired results.

    Human Resources Committee
The purpose of the Human Resources Committee is to support Chamber members in their Human Resources knowledge base and functions. To help achieve this goal, the committee schedules and coordinates various programs and events to assist members with Human Resource issues.

    Working Women's Luncheon Committee
The purpose of the Working Women's Committee is to support and promote women in business through education, networking, sharing of knowledge, and empowerment. The committee selects topics to be covered, helps to secure speakers, and determines luncheon locations.

    Newsletter Content Committee
The Chamber of Commerce issues six newsletters each year. The newsletter's purpose is to inform members of events, as well as share information of mutual interest. The Newsletter Content Committee determines the articles for each newsletter issue as well as assisting with the writing and editing of all content. Generally, writing assignments are divided among standing committee members, while outside authors are sought for various feature stories.

    Special Events Committee
The Special Events Committee assists in creating the annual calendar of programs. Chamber programs include a series of social activities, such as Business After Hours, that promote the interaction of Chamber members and the development of broadened business relationships.

There are also a number of educational programs planned each year. The Chamber's major events (Annual Banquet, Golf, Community Service & Leadership Awards Ceremony, and The Taste of Nashoba Valley) have their own committees to plan and implement their respective event. These committees are responsible for (but not limited to) menus, publicity & marketing, securing sponsors & speakers and volunteer coordination and recruitment.

    Ambassador Committee
The Ambassador Team's primary purpose is two-fold; 1) to insure that new members participate in the various activities and opportunities available in the first 3 months of membership through a 3-point Ambassador Program and, 2) to retain membership. To do this, the team contacts members to discuss issues, review benefits and encourage continued participation. By being responsive to member needs, reinforcing the benefits of Chamber membership, and strengthening member relations with phone calls and personal greetings at Chamber functions, the Ambassador Team helps insure membership retention is successful.
